Voltage RDP V1 Railgun

Description

The RDP (Rotational Drive Powered) V1 Railgun is a mobile anti-vehicle based Railgun, capable of delivering 3 shots on a full charge for battery depletion causes inefficiency.

While the gun itself is too heavy to fire while standing, a sturdy mounted bipod on the front is available for temporary mount of the gun on solid surfaces, allowing for stable aim and firing.

When charge is depleted, the battery may be charged by cranking the frontal handle/grip in order to spin a flywheel system to create a current to charge the gun. While current tech limits this from being very efficient, it's a somewhat useful last minute thought if no other power sources are available, about 10 periodical cranks will create enough power to fire another round.

The ammunition is a specially designed combination of a Neodymium core encased in a Tungsten nose and shell. The Neodymium allows for rapid and efficient acceleration out the barrel, the stronger magnetic fields higher affected by the rapid motion of electrons flowing through the magnets surrounding the barrel and allowing for higher muzzle velocity. Meanwhile the Tungsten Nose and shell allows the round to deliver through heavy armor. On a full charge the round has been shown to effectively punch through heavy layered metals.

For reloading a slide in between the buttstock and sight rail may be cocked back and a new round inserted into the barrel, pushing the slide forward again to lock the round in place.

So another a new more futuristic gun concept. I've always kinda wanted to mess with the idea of a railgun and I think I got something I quite like.

Voltage and it's concept ideas belong to me :iconvincent-wullf: so does the art
